Wednesday Gratitude Posted by Delta on 10/15/2025, 7:21 pm, in reply to "Hump Day Grats - what are YOU thankful for? nt" Had a cardiologist appointment today. He seemed happy with where I am, except for my weight. My chest started hurting through to my back last night, and it feels like my left side is filling up with fluid. He told me to check with my PCP because he doesn't think it is caused by my heart from what he can find. My husband has bronchitis, and the doctor believes he contracted it from someone. Looks like I may have picked it up from him. Grateful it is not my heart. Starting Sunday, we are looking at 70s for a least a week. Yay, Autumn! Our grandson called us yesterday to tell us that he has a chance to take a promotion at one of the other facilities where he has worked before, and he is taking it, although they have enjoyed living on the coast. There is a lot more room for advancement where they want him than where he is now and also the workload is lighter. It will be closer to us so hopefully we can see them more often. His dad's best friend, when the kids were growing up here, already lives in the town where they are going so they feel that they will have at least a support unit they don't have where they are. They have been on the coast for almost 3 months and still haven't made friends, even at the church they have been going to. Got my great-grandson the cutest little snow boots and other winter clothes today. He is in a Bluey phase and I found him some Bluey pjs, robe and houseshoes. The shoes are too cute; each a different character and are a different color. I think he will like it.

Glad to hear cardiologist went well but concerned about what your feeling. Please let us know what the PCP says! We love our Delta and want her healthy and not hurting!

It is funny, they Posted by Delta on 10/16/2025, 1:53 pm, in reply to "Congrats to your grandson!" love the Gulf area and were just over the moon to be moving there. It has worn off quickly. They said every time they go to the beach, someone gets bitten, stung, or burrowed into. The glow has worn off quickly. They have decided that they liked going there on vacation a whole lot better than living there. He also liked the manager he worked under here better, so he is excited to be getting back to an area where he will be working with him again. All this moving is costing a lot of money, though. He had to buy out his apartment contract here for leaving 4 months before it ended, and pay hook-ups there; now he will have to do the same thing again. That is a lot of money to give up in a year. I am glad that they think enough of him to offer him the jobs as they come open first, though.

I was aiming for 230 but that became unrealistic. 5 clients and giving Lew a bath today. Bill will help.me take both dogs to the vet tomorrow to get all their vaccines up to date. UPS came to the house to pick up 2 big boxes from Amazon that contained dishes. My goal was to get simple dishes that didn't weigh much. These were as heavy as the ones I have. No way Bill and I could gave schlepped these to the UPS store. 12 clients left to be seen between now and vacation. My brain is on getting ready so having to pause and really focus on someone else is quite a task right now. Cats saw my suitcase out of the closet and have already started acting weird.

I know the madness of tryin for an unrealistic-at-the-moment can be. It usually makes me gain from sheer stress, even not eating. When I started dropping everything I found a pattern of Corelle that I liked. It is very light weight, which used to drive me batty before I needed lighter dishes but I have grown to love them. There are lots of new patterns; not our mother's dishes any more.

Target had this brand of great, light, porcelain dishes. Posted by Paula on 10/17/2025, 9:42 am, in reply to "I a glad to hear that" They were actually made in France. I bought 4 or 5 dinner plates and a bunch of salad plates but never went back to finish the set. No longer available and I've checked resale places as well. When I think of Corelle, I think of how they shatter into a million pieces if you drop one. Has that improved? They definitely do meet my light weight criteria.

I loved them and went back to get more bowls and see if I could find more from the same line. It was no more, and I haven't found it since. So far, I have dropped my Corelle on granite and tile multiple times, and it hasn't shattered. The only one that has broken in several years broke in a straight line in the dishwasher. I have no idea why; it wasn't cold or anything.

When I had shattered almost every piece of the stoneware because Granite and Porceline tile do not play well when you can't hold onto things, I looked at Corelle. They had some nice patterns, and the weight does not bother me so much now. I have only had one plate to brea,k and that happened in the Dishwasher. No idea how it happened.

God is good! 2) call from the nurse yesterday for 3 week follow-up and call from nutritionist today. I'm struggling with ground meat (e.g. turkey) but I'm thinking she will still move me along to next stage of diet 3) nurse suggested adding "MIO" to water so I'll get some of that this week in the groceries. She (my nurse Yolanda) has also had the sleeve done at 360 Clinic so she knows what the patient is going through directly 4) flannel sheets. I am SO not ready for these temps. At night, there has been a "risk of frost" 5) menu all mapped out for the day

I hope you keep that up. I know it helps me a lot and I keep getting away from it because "I'm too busy." Actually, not doing it is a waste of my time and lets me eat too much. I hope you don't let that happen.
