Update. Still on our way home Posted by Cindyh on 11/19/2025, 9:36 pm Got the testing done. Got my injection not in the joint but a nerve in the shoulder Surgery Dec 23 He will not clean up the arthritis again because it’s way too bad. I’m sure that’s why it hurts so much and the arm aches. He said it’s referred pain. It’s so weak Anyway. Total shoulder replacement. He said 2 lb weight limit for the first month. My 40 oz cup will go because the cup is heavy and the liquid too. He said up to 4 months physical therapy and full healing time. I sure hope I’m not worst case scenario. I also hope I don’t need a reverse shoulder. He said hopefully not. Depends on how bad the rotator cuff is I’m scared of the healing on this one because my knee replacement was so bad but I have to do it So that’s what happened. I’ll let you know when I have a surgery time. I have to go back one more time before for a CT scan

Not a great time to have surgery, but I totally understand not wanting to put it off any longer (I once elected to have surgery a couple of days before Christmas instead of January for the same reason. I hope that the healing is better than with a knee replacement.

Don't know the difference between a regular or reverse shoulder surgery. No thought to wait until after the holidays! Probably just want the pain to end! I get it.

Has more permanent weight restrictions and pops out of place easier but they don’t do it unless they have to. If I wait until after the holidays it puts me back a whole month. I want to but I’m hurting so badly
