Prayer request Posted by Krista on 11/25/2025, 5:39 pm Dad got a call from the surgeon this morning and they want to see him this Thursday at 11 am. They have a report from the cardiologist, although they haven't seen him for the stress test. I am praying that he will be strong enough for surgery. This is a tough one for him - if he can't have the surgery, he may live another year (or more) and if he has the surgery there is always risk as we know. He will have a colostomy bag for the rest of his life. He's not keen on that but I do believe he wants to keep living. Thanks for your prayers.

I asked that they wait til tomorrow's appt. I emailed Dad's minister at the church they go to and asked her to call him if she can today. My brother is near the breaking point. I feel so helpless. It's in God's hands I know - I am going over to try to ease some of the troubled-ness. So hard.

As long as he is not just reacting out of fear (and lack of good information), it's a legitimate choice. Dying with dignity, feeling like you have some say in the Universe over your life...All of that is sacred IMHO. BTT you read this, he may have changed his mind. Hold each other tight. The situation with Paul is a scary one. Love you

It is not great fun, but after the first month or so of getting used to it, it is not that bad. My mom and I have both had them. She was told for life, but about 3 years later, they were able to reverse hers because of new medical improvements. Never know what is around the corner. I sure hope he can have a successful surgery and be with you for years.
