My energy and stamina have taken a hit and don't last long when I try to do things but at least I feel like the meds are finally working. I had a sinus infection before Thanksgiving that I was given antibiotics for. The day after Thanksgiving I felt awful and have ever since. I developed an upper respiratory infection that really took me down fast. It is so shocking to me how that works lately. I had to be put on some different antibiotics, steroids and other meds. Just so grateful to feel better. The doctor has started a protocol to help build my immune system back up. I hope it works. The weather forecast has changed again and the below-freezing temps are only supposed to last 36-48 hours with little or no snow. They were claiming that it might last almost till Christmas with ice.I hope that it is out of here quickly. I have had enough cold this month. Yesterday was beautiful. We had sunshine and temperatures warm enough to just have long sleeves to a light jacket in the afternoon. The winds did get up again in the afternoon, but after 11 days of cold, rainy, or at least cloudy, it was so welcome. I haven't bought a single stocking stuffer so I am grateful for Walmart delivery. I also haven't bought gifts for the Dirty Santa or whatever you call where you choose a gift, and everyone can take it when it is their turn. Also have a few gifts that I haven't picked up yet, so Amazon will have to do. I am not getting out right now. Truthfully, this time I would like to cancel or postpone it. All you ladies. You are all such treasures in my life!

You need to use them right now, so go for it. If your family is coming over next Saturday, phone the grandchildren for help! You know they will jump right into it. Offer them a Christmas bonus! I don't know what you're doing for food, but have it delivered. Call right now or tomorrow to set up delivery. (((Delta)))

I did get some of the house straightened out today and some decorations done. My son has a cold or virus. He tested negative for COVID, Flu A and B, and strep,p but he has something. My daughter's family is just getting over COVID. My husband has had a sinus infection, felt a lot better yesterday, but is almost down today again. We may skip a get-together until later on when everyone feels better. Something simple, I do remember. Last year, everyone brought two finger foods or dip-type things. I honestly don't remember what we decided on food. We talked about it at Thanksgiving. I'll have to call someone to find out. The whole conversation is just fuzzy to me.

His crappy Medicare advantage plan would not cover skilled nursing so they sent him home and he will have a home healthcare nurse, PT, and OT coming out. He also has a home health care worker that comes out 2 times a week to clean and I think she is adding another couple of hours a week so that will help as well. 2. My brother sounded better on the phone last night. I went over Thursday morning from work as he called me and couldn’t get his oxygen hooked up. I was able to fix his breakfast and help him pay some bills when I was there. I was so worried when I left as he seemed so frail. Thankful he sounded more like himself last night. 3. A good Zoom Weight loss meeting this morning. This is different than the meeting I used to go to in person and I really enjoy the conversations we have over Zoom. 4. I got paid today and noticed that my check was larger than usual. Come to find out we got a nice Christmas bonus! Love that! 5. This day and all it has to offer and all of you sweet friends! God is good.

It's scary , yes, how frail your brother has been and they won't pay for some home care. I love the thought of your zoomw weight loss meeting. I am so glad you've found it very good!

I am told that there is still time to change if you have a good reason, but I don't know the particulars of that. Perhaps you or his daughter could find out and see about getting it changed to a plan that better fits where he is now. Hooray for the bonus! I hope you get something great for yourself.

I only gift Carin, the 3 boys, Thomas (yes, I did), Bill, two Secret Santa's at work,and my neighbor, Joanne. Still have one to wrap. A really hard workout at PT yesterday. Stamina and balance. She laid out an agility course with narrow planks I had to walk on, wickets that I had to step over, squishy things to step on, weights on my ankles. She had to hold on to me through the whole thing because my balance is so bad. I told her that, if I was a dog in an agility contest, I would have been disqualified. Also did a bunch of sit to stands, and 1 leg lifts. She is so creative. My legs felt like jelly when I left. It's sobering to see how off-balance I am! Going to PT helps motivate me to do better all the way around. Looking forward to creating my own office space in a couple weeks. I don't have to do furniture this time. Jenn is providing that. Cosette looks so small when she curls up like a cat. Her body curls in half and her long legs are hidden beneath her.

I still work on my balance doing a few exercises every day. I bet you'll enjoy creating your own office space, especially if someone else is providing the furniture!

That and the core are the main reasons for seniors to get sidelined. Right now, I am pretty much sidelined. Yesterday, I noticed that the stairs were okay in the morning, but a few hours later, I avoided stairs and sitting on things that were too low. I have found two men and a woman who focus on balance and core for seniors. They put free exercises on their FB page. Usually, 3 or 5 exercises to do every day for a bit. If you are interested, I can give your their links. At this point, I am just full of good intentions but haven't started. Keep talking about your success. Maybe it will inspire or shame me into getting started.

I can’t remember if you told us, are you sending their gifts or are you planning on going to see them during the holidays? How exciting to be getting your new office set up! Do you do specific exercises to help with balance? Mine is not great! I think someone on here mentioned walking heel to toe (while hanging onto a counter or something). Co looks so cute! Such a sweet girl!

After a few weeks of searching, my husband found the perfect Christmas wreath for our front door at Walmart! We hung it up as soon as we got home. 2. My red Christmas shoes arrived from Amazon and they fit. It's hard to believe in year 5 of maintenance that I have found a new NSV. I can buy "normal" shoes as long as they're extra wide. 3. I love exploring different cultures through the world of books. Right now I'm reading a book set in Nigeria. 4. I have discovered Hawaiian hamburger buns at Walmart with only 70 calories per bun. Delicious! 5. FSF family and friends! I pray for all of you, your families, your friends in my daily prayers... and thank you for praying for me! Maintenance is a forever endeavor!

I have always loved getting new shoes, but these days my shoes are not that exciting. I haven't been feeling well since Thanksgiving. I haven't gotten my house or tree decorated, I haven't even set my little twinkling tree on a table and plugged it in. It is still sitting where my grandson put it when he brought it down from the attic. I realized yesterday that our family Christmas get together is NEXT Saturday. I haven't bought Dirty Santa gifts and don't even remember what time, how much we set to spend or what we are eating. It is here and my house is a disaster. I am beginning to panic so reading about your lovely new wreath and new shoes is very soothing.
