Has storm hit anyone yet? Posted by Krista on 1/24/2026, 5:40 pm We're getting snow Sunday into Tuesday but it's not like what you gals may be facing. Update if you can?

We were supposed to get 8-2” of snow and the ice stay south but we got a few inches of snow them horrendous sleet started about 9 pm and sleeted very hard all night. I’m so afraid we will lose power. It says 1-2 more inches of snow. The snow line ( heaviest) they said would be about 39-45 miles north. Getting ready to turn on the tv and see what they got.

Some people are reporting 5 inches and some are reporting as much as 8. It’s too cold for me to go out and measure! More snow is supposed to fall later.

Most of the time, that will be gone in a couple of days. We mostly get the ice storms. Even when it warms u,p that causes dangerous projectiles for days, not to mention all the powerlines and trees down. I hope you keep your power and don't get anything but snow. How are your doggies taking the snow on the ground? Poppy will not use a puppy pad, never liked them. She will go beside them but not on them. I have said many times that I wish I had taught her to go in the stand-up shower so it would be easy on us all when the weather is bad. She enjoys the snow, so she is ready to go out, but it is higher than her legs, so she only goes under the eaves of the house, where it is more shallow.

We got horrible Posted by Delta on 1/24/2026, 7:53 pm, in reply to "Has storm hit anyone yet?" winds yesterday afternoon and it started snowing about midnight. It looked like freezing mist instead of real snow. It piled up about 3 inches overnight then stopped this morning for a lull. They tell us that we are supposed to get the freezing rain and sleet tonight. It has been 15°F all day but supposed to warm up to 20 by midnight and the freezing rain is supposed to start because it is much warmer above us than on the ground. This is when the damage is supposed to start. About 25 miles south of us they had freezing rain last night. THankfully we were spared. It is a mess with downed trees, electric lines, and poles. According to the weather forecastors they are supposed to continue to get it until tomorrow afternoon or evening. They are already talking about power being out there for weeks. Temps are only predicted to be 33 one time in the next 10 days the rest of the time in the teens and 20s.
