The temps came up all night. It is now 45°F and raining. It is a nice, slow rain, so it is not running off the ice but melting it. Somewhat. All the snow is gone, but we still have about two inches of ice left that was on top from the wintry mix we got last. Unfortunately, we are headed down to freezing tonight and possible flurries tomorrow, but Friday is supposed to be in the low 60s.
Not having to bundle up with a coat and shoes to let Poppy out of the screened room. I just went out in my house shoes and the pullover sweater I am wearing. Yay!
Spending the morning with my granddaughter. We made egg cups/muffins or whatever they are called with lots of veggies for breakfast.
Granddaughter was among a handful of students who were invited to display art at an exhibition in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and she is not even taking art this year. She is so excited. She has never been confident about her drawings and paintings. I hope this will help her realize that she really is good.
My grandson made it home safely last night. He was called out early in the morning yesterday to collect samples for his work over 2.5 hours from home. They ran into difficulties and didn't have it ready for him until after 11 PM. He had to get up early to get there when they said the samples would be there, then wait over 15 hours for them to actually get there, then drive home over 2.5 hours after midnight. Over twenty hours on the clock in one day, more than 5 hours driving on some bad roads. Normally, they would have put him up at a hotel overnight, but where he picked it up kept saying any minute, so his office didn't set up anything before they left for the day.
The roads were clear for my husband to go to his quarterly diabetic checkup today. I had an endoscopy scheduled yesterday, rescheduled from November, but the staff for the pre-tests couldn't make it to the office the day of my appointment, and had not been there until yesterday, so they cancelled me. I am beginning to think I am not meant to get this endoscopy.

What an ordeal for the grandson. Glad he back home.
Temps into the 40s today. I asked Bill if he would work on the driveway today. It's going to rain or snow a little over the next couple of days which means the new moisture will freeze on top of the thick ice that's already there. So far, he hasn't done much to help so we will see. I canceled my cleaning lady today because of all the ice on the driver. I hate doing that to her because I know only too well what it's like to lose business because of the weather. I think her husband recently abandoned her and her two little girls.
Put this on my phone screen to remind me how much time I have to lose weight before my trip. I'm always in my phone so I will see it many, many times each day!

You set a goal before surgery and you made it or nearly made it. I have faith that if you really want it, you will meet your Paris goal.
Aren't you afraid that working on the driveway might cause Bill to have a heart attack? So many older people died around me during this freeze because they tried to shovel the drive.
2) just got home from first workout at gym. I did 10 on bike to warm up, 2 sets of lower body weight machines (5 machines), 10 on treadmill and 5 on arm "peddler". This was about 45 minutes. I didn't want to go crazy on Day 1 so I will do upper body tomorrow
3) the staff were happy to see me there and that always is nice. I've been there several times for different physio
4) meeting with radio coach today - he is giving all announcers feedback on improving our shows. I like him alot and he has great advice to incorporate
5) knowing that cutting back at night time eating helps

Good to know that cutting back at night helps you lose. I know that if I allowed myself to eat at night I would eat more after dinner than I have eaten all day put together. I just can't do that. I have to have a set thing that I can eat and then I usually don't because it is not something that I "want". If I don't want to eat healthy food I am not hungry. I haven't noticed that it has helped me lose weight thouogh.
