Being of a certain age (83 next month) I of course grew up accepting queues as the norm, so not having to join a long queue is just not British is it?
There is a serious aspect to this, it's another example of de-humanising contact. In the queue you could have a natter to other people, gaze at the cakes and scones, mostly ones us coeliacs can't have of course.
Anyway that's progress allegedly.
Same nice M&S food and drink, tea served in a pot albeit cups without saucers.
