🔍 What I found out
In the UK, gluten-free Christmas baked goods (cakes, mince pies) used to appear in ALDI’s seasonal range. But in recent years, the “free from” bakery offerings have become more limited. Several gluten-free bloggers say ALDI currently doesn’t have its own branded gluten-free mince pies or Christmas cakes in many stores.

The Coeliac UK “ALDI Christmas Product List” includes some items that are “suitable for a gluten free diet,” which suggests that ALDI may stock some gluten-friendly seasonal products.

One note: many of ALDI’s Christmas ranges are labeled “accidentally gluten-free” (i.e. they don’t claim “gluten free” but the ingredient list is clear) rather than being produced in a dedicated gluten-free line.

In 2024, the gluten-free Christmas roundup blog says ALDI UK’s lineup shows improvement in festive options in general — but still, no firm signs of classic gluten-free mince pies or Christmas cakes returning widely.

✅ What you can try
Check closer to Christmas — seasonal items often arrive in the weeks before the holidays.
Visit the “Free From” section (if your ALDI has one) or check bakery shelves for small, labelled items — sometimes they slip in.
Look for “suitable for gluten free diet” labels or the crossed-grain symbol. Always read the full ingredient list — “may contain” warnings are common with baked goods.
Ask staff or store manager whether their ALDI is getting any special “Gluten Free Christmas” orders this year.
Alternative: make your own — since you know you like ALDI’s cake texture, you might try a gluten-free Christmas cake recipe (there are many good ones online).
Check competing stores or dedicated gluten-free/bakery shops early — they might bring in imported or specialty gluten-free Christmas goods.
