Chef and brewer gloucester

Went to the Wheatstone Inn, barnwood Gloucester yesterday. Only a chain, chef and brewer, so used tesco vouchers to pay. But fair play, a nice team of staff, happy to answer any gf questions and check with management where in doubt. The gf menu is plentiful and the roast beef was delicious, as were the 3 gf Yorkshire puds! Not fancy but a good feed and good gf children's meals for a fair price too. Right next to a premiere Inn if needed.
We use Premier Inns frequently and have done for many years. The big let down for me has always been the catering side, until recently very little GF choice, a recent stop did produce a separate GF menu, not a big choice but better. All the restaurants visited over the last few years however have become increasingly scruffy, Whitbread who own Premier Inn and Beefeater, Table Table, Thyme, Brewers Fayre etc hyave announced they are going to sell the restaurant chain, best thing to do to be honest as they reflect badly on the Premier Inn side of the business. Not every body who stays in the hotel eats there I suppose but a lot of people do as there isn't always a nearby alternative. My dearest wish would be that M&B brewery restaurant chain Miller & Carter is far superior and have an excellent GF menu. Thank goodness for The Lounges chain that I have reported on many times, recently had a holiday in North Norfolk and found the 'Poco Lounge' in Kings Lynn. Bill D.
AHH this is good to know, but I'll miss the Premier Inn Thyme restaurants
Even though there's rarely a GF/Dairy/WF choice for me, I've always had a great response from the staff and the chefs. They have never let me down and always there is something delicious to eat from their breakfast and dinner menus. And being V sensitive, I'd know quickly.
