I have wanted to get back in to sketching. Looking at your book, you make an observation about using a fountain pen versus a pencil. Whe I was in art school, I thought my lines with pencils and othe drawing media were too tentative. It's better to have a bold line with a mistake than to have a tentative line with no character. So, I started drawing with pens. At one point, I was working with pen in figure drawing. Working with pens, you stop worrying about mistakes. And as you noted, that actually helps you focus on what you are drawing.
