I like having this 1940’s Reynolds Rocket ball point pen for several reasons. It’s a pen with a lot of history. Most of all It was a turning point from fountain pens to ballpoints and touted not to leak, not have to refill for years, and could write in any position. This was not the case.
Most of us are already familiar with it’s competitive and legal battles that gave it a short life. This was an expensive pen at the time ($12.50. With inflation today, $180)
This particular pen survived 60 years of storage and still has its original clear plastic container.
I like having this pen for it’s teaching value of a “Show and Tell” piece when I am explaining the development of the fountain pen.
It gives me pleasure to share this with you.
