You may know I am really partial to Parker and have had years of great services from my 75's 51's and a few Vacs. Always collected vintage but early 1990's I ventures into modern with this M800 one of my first purchases.
I had sone of the typical problems with other modern and vintage, drying nibs/feed, skipping, incomplete filling, and so on. Somehow, this M800 never ever gave me a problem so it was a permanent pen on my pen rotation tray on my desk. Further, the OM oblique medium nib was a "Goldilocks" nib. It gave me just the right amount of shading, not too thick and not too light....just right, the same way I like my porridge
I would actually wake up in the morning looking forward to putting my M800 to paper.
In the pursuit of other fountain pens that I wanted I made the horrible mistake of selling the M800 which I greatly regret to this day. Maybe someday I'll be able to replace it. A suggestion to you my friends, if you have a pen in your hand that you really enjoy, easy use, easy filling, no problems and really gives you pleasure...keep it! Do not ever trade or sell it. Nothing worse than the pain of heels marks on your butt from kicking yourself.
Thank you Rena for sharing your beautiful Pelikan and reminding me of this valuable lesson.
