2. One of the most important tasks on a production, and one to which a number of people are hired, is to make certain that any element in a movie/play/etc that is of historic nature (i.e. set in a past time) is as accurate as possible to a portrayal in that time period. The clothes, furniture, settings, transport, and - yes - fountain pens are not their for their own reason or purpose or interest, but to validate and lock in the time period as correctly as possible. If not, one might as well have Winston Churchill step out of a Tesla in front of 10 Downing Street.
Yes, fountain pens are our hobby, but popularizing and 'spreading the word' is up to us, not to the makers of historical dramas and the like. I absolutely appreciate it when they take the time, energy, and expense to put the proper pen in a persons hand.
