Paul's Fountain Pen Journal (three issues annually) has a feature, "Pen Police on Patrol" which highlights what the editor cites as "improper pen use" or improper depictions of pens in films, TV, and other media. IMNSHO, there is no such think as "improper pen use." Producers sometimes mix up a time period or the showing of a writing implement that doesn't fit the setting, but that happens with every aspect of a dramatization--costumes, appliances, mannerisms, etc. So what? Better to have a LOT of pens shown, even if not in the correct time frame than none. "nitism" doesn't become us, I think. Your opinion on the matter?
