Note: I have made a dedicated thread, for anyone interested in the archived PenTrace, which can be found here.

I was out of town for two days and returned home late last night. While checking email and messages, I saw the thread again (before your comment) and the same thought came to mind. I checked the "Wayback Machine" at archive.org. You enter a domain name, in this instance, newpentrace.net and see if they have archived the site at various points.
Indeed, they have been tracking the site since about 2014. However, while a certain amount of material may still be in their database, it is many times more difficult to save, as you can't go directly to a particular directory - as if you had access to your original site - and just download everything. No, you have to visit each link/page, just as if you were browsing the site, click on each one, and save the pages and images individually. I noted, in about ten minutes of looking, that some pages/articles were intact, some were intact but missing the images, and some could not be accessed. Because the PenTrace site was not organized in a menu structure and lacking any index of all articles, it is impossible for a newer reader to know what to look for. Additionally, the fact that very old articles continue to populate the main page means it is difficult to pull up the various instances of archiving (archive.org would visit the site a number of times during the years) and know if you are seeing new material or old.
Bottom line: yes, there are some number of past articles that can likely be salvaged this way, a truly laborious task. Maybe some elder fp person, who has a young protege to trade their time for a pen or two could be coaxed into doing the downloading of data? However, if Len cannot access the hosting servers, this is the only way. I am also concerned that with no maintenance and no administrator, it is possible that the files were wiped and are no longer on the host site, though that will be known if anyone is ever granted admin rights and access. And looking at what was there... do pen show reports from more than 10 years ago still have relevance? I don't know, but it is still a mountain to climb. Maybe the above will give some other's ideas about how to 'save' the old Pentrace.
Best regards,
Jon
