As I have often written about in the case of jewels, in previous reigns there have been agreements with government over passing estate straight from one monarch to another, free of death duties and taxes. That avoided forcing sales and reducing these personal collections. It probably applies to other property too. (All of which has nothing to do wih the Royal Collection which is held in trust.) So far I have not seen anything in the media about this but expect something from the Palace before long.
