Im wondering who showed them their invitations. I doubt it's the foreign royals and assume it's mainly people who have been invited as part of representing the public. It's no surprise their dress code will be as you wrote. Im wondering if the UK Royals will adhere to that dress code as it would clash with the outfits of the king and queen. I also think the foreign royals might be wearing something a little more formal.
According to journalists who have apparently seen an invitation, the dress-code for guests is similar to that for the 2011 royal wedding: formal wear or uniform for men, day-dress with hats for ladies. The reception on the previous evening apparently states ´cocktail dress´ or something similar.
In her interview with Canadian TV she stated she'll act as gold stick and that it in her words: solved her dress problem. So no gown, robes and tiara for the Princess Royal....
It seems there is a chance that Anne will act as gold stick for the king at his coronation. If so she will be in uniform and not in a gown, robes and jewels. I do see it's a very prestigious role for her so it marks her service to both the king and their late mother but i had so hoped to see Anne in that big meander diadem she wore at the Chinese state visit. During the coronation we would have had a lot of footage of her wearing it.
