An interesting theory, Hans. The size looks similar - if only we had a better close-up of Princess Margaret’s bandeau.
I don’t know if the fleur-de-lis in Margaret’s own wedding gift tiara could be removed, but the tiara frame looks smaller than the bandeau she wore in 1926.
