I have the picture from the ball but it's not clear as yours.
When Princess Alice Countess of Athlone and the Earl of Athlone attended their first ball since fheir return from South Africa, they found had been arranged resemble as far as possible a ball in a private house. It was the Deptford Fund ball at the Dorchester, London, and Susan Duchess of Somerset had decided to do away with the usual cabaret and side-shows. Instead, as many guests as possible were introduced I to one another, and supper was served tables bordering the dance floor. As pretty compliment the programmes were in the colours the Earl of Athlone's regiment, the 7th Queen's Own Hussars —dark blue and sunshine yellow. Lady May's Necklace. In some ways the ball was the nature of welcome home, for Princess Alice president of the Deptford Hospital, in aid which was held On her arrival she was presented with a bouquet by the only child present—Miss Felicity Tankerville Chamberlaine. Princess Alice and Lady May Cambrjdge, her daughter, both enthusiastic dancers. Lady May Cambridge was wearing a striking necklace of jade held together by strings of pearls.
