But the Pearl and the diamonds surrounding them does not have dots. So, maybe an indication that they where a reuse and added later? Othervise why not continue the same design and craftmanship on all elements of the tiara? Previous Message
Im a bit confused by the story that this was a tiara with diamond interlocking circles where a few pearls were added to.
There are not interlocking circles and if you remove the pearls you end up with a very odd looking piece. So if the pearls are a later addition it was also the moment to completely redesign the previous piece. Not that that was uncommon, we all know Queen Mary of the UK changed many of her pieces into other/new versions.

I was a little disappointed to read from Trond that Princess Ingeborg’s tiara contains white sapphires (and diamonds) and only cultured pearls. It would have been nice if it were made of more precious materials like natural pearls. The diamonds are probably the tiny white stones we see set within the hoop-like shapes? The white sapphires possibly the larger white stones?
