They won't be able to sell them. Shame how inadequate the security must have been. I hope they're recovered

I was so ashamed of the inadequate security measures when some of the crown jewels of Saxony were stolen. Even though the thieves in Dresden went to a lot of trouble to get into the palace in the first place. But it seems that the security precautions at the Louvre are nowhere near as sophisticated as one would expect. How can that be? In daylight, within moments, using a ladder, smashing a window, opening the display cases, stealing the jewels and escaping. I had hoped that after Dresden, museums of high rank like the Louvre (in this case: V&A, Kensington Palace...?) would at least replace the glass in the display cases with high-security glass that you have to beat on for minutes with heavy equipment to break it.

Braquage au Louvre : ce que l’on sait sur ce spectaculaire vol de bijoux

This morning, a team of burglars managed to enter the Apollon's Gallery in the Louvre, in Paris, and broke the window of two cases displaying the (remains of) the French Crown Jewels, before taking the jewels with them and fleeing back - all that in a handful of minutes.
The list of the stolen jewels has not been made public, but the Interior minister spoke of "jewels of a unevaluable patrimonial and historical significance", which makes fear the worst.
The Culture minister has made known that one of the jewels has been recovered, but she did not say which one.
Awful!!!!
