OMG! What a pity. Usually its the end of historical piece when it end with a modern jeweller...Exept maybe Cartier buying own jewellery back. Harry Winston broke up Empress Marie Luise´s emerald tiara, changed the emeralds with turquoise - horrible. Graff killed the Blue Wittelsbach. He said he "better" it. What will be the future of the Sancy?
The Peridot Parure was a complete parure from 1825. Of Peridot (my absolute favourite stone, by the way). Old and seldom and of great provenance. And beautiful. Extraordinary. Not really wearable today. A piece for a museum. What a pity.
--Previous Message-- : : : If Joan Rivers wore the earrings in 2004, : she did so with the foliate motifs removed. : I think she actually wore clusters and : pendants removed from the necklace instead : of the larger original earrings. It's : possible that the parure was broken up soon : after the 2001 sale. : : :
