Thank you Agnes. I had never realised that yellow was considered a mourning colour in Spain.
Although, no doubt, Catherine of Aragon's death was a matter of some rejoicing for Henry VIII, I am sure that he would have given some token acknowledgement to the death of a Queen, especially one who was born royal and who had not been accused of treason, unlike most of his later wives. He did seem to be a stickler for etiquette.
