Rudoe's description appears to be a reference to the Queen Alexandra Cartier 1901 Indian necklace (as mentioned by Franck in his recent post) rather than to one of the Cartier collier resille necklaces.
But what a great reference. Now we know that that Indian necklace had two carved emeralds.
How I wish we could see QA's jewel books! Or the Cartier Archives! What a treasure trove they would be.
