Have now found my Nadelhoffer. Quoting from it - "A résille literally means 'hairnet', and Cartier used this same netlike technique to produce a series of approximately ten necklaces which fitted snugly round the neck like a second skin, banishing all thought of rigid metal." So I would say the garland style necklace is not résille. Nadelhoffer provides no notes to this part of the text that we are interested in. The Bibliography refers to - Cartier. Retrospective Louis Cartier: One Hundred and One Years of the Jeweler's Art. New York. 1976 Retrospective Louis Cartier: Masterworks of Art Deco. Exhibition catalogue, Los Angeles County Museum, 1983. The author acknowledges the President of Cartier, various archivists, mentions New York and London, and lists names of many many people who assisted the author. I know that just skims the surface.
