    Princess Maud's Wedding Gifts Archived Message

    I just spent some time translating an old newspaper article I found online detailing some of the jewels given to Princess Maud (later Queen Maud) upon her wedding to Prince Carl (King Harald VII). I thought some may find it interesting. It was translated from Swedish and my Swedish isn't great so I didn't get all the words- but I tried!

    Grand Duke and Grand Duchess of Hesse and the Crown Prince and Crown Princess of Romania, a diamond and pearl brosch;
    Princess Louise and the Marquis of Lorne a necklace, adorned with satires, rubies and diamonds;
    Grand Duke Alexander and Grand Duchess Xenia a bracelet, pendant with a large diamond of turquoise;
    Empress Friedrich a bracelet, smyckadt with a sapphire;
    queen of Greece, a bracelet with diamonds and amethysts;
    Duke and Duchess of Aosta an antique diamond bracelet o. p. v.
