There are many press references to the gift of a pearl necklace and bracelet from the Duke of Kent to Princess Marina on the occasion of their wedding.
Except for a photo which may show the bracelet being worn by the Duchess, I have never seen a photo of her wearing the necklace. All of the English press noted that the pearls were 'family heirloom' but those I have seen did not give any additional information. In contrast, some reputable Australian newspapers were saying that the pearls had belonged to the Duchess of Teck. Some papers wrote about how particular the Duke of Kent was in having these pearls re-set and indicated that the Duke was fully involved in designing and overseeing the diamond elements.

I am not sure but, perhaps Princess Marina is wearing the pearl bracelet in the photo below.
Perhaps the pearls, which were re-set and described as family heirlooms, were those given to the Duchess of Teck for her Silver wedding anniversary - when the press reported that she received a 3 strand pearl necklace from her friends.
In time to come I will try to see if Princess Marina was reported to wear any of the ruby necklaces given to her as a wedding present. So often the British royal ladies choose to be photographed only in diamonds and pearls. As Princess Marina also choose to be photographed wearing her sapphire parure, I am ever hopeful of coming across more photos of her in her ruby jewels.
