Christie's: The Jewelry Archives Revealed Archived Message

I treated myself to this book as a Christmas present, and finally have gone through it (twice, actually).

I own a few of Vincent Meylan's books, and have to say this is by far my favorite. From a publishing point of view, it is a stunning book. The images are strikingly beautiful, and the layout and composition of the book are superb. However, it is the content that stands out. This is a carefully researched book, filled with hitherto unknown information (to me at least). Ownership of jewels are traced through the ages and the generation, with sometimes surprising outcomes.

Although not exclusively about royal jewels, the majority of the pieces explored are of royal provenance. Anyone with an interest in jewels will find this book fascinating.

Congratulations, Vincent, on what I think is your best book yet.
