No, they are not. These two diamond brooches were photographed in 2006, prior to the planned auction of the late Grand-Duchess Joséphine-Charlotte's jewels (which was eventually cancelled by Grand-Duke Henri). As the Scroll Tiara appear on the same picture, we can safely assume the brooches do not come from the tiara. The twin brooches are in the centre of the picture below, within the Congo necklace: Some of the jewels above were eventually sold at auction, but I do not know if it is the case of this pair of brooches. Some of them on this table have been sold discretly later though !!! Particularly the 4 diamond bracelets and the sapphire and emerald one, the rubies brooches and bracelet. Previous Message But why was an auction considered in the first place? One should think that the jewels would have been distributed among her children. Or where they more interested in the money rather than diamonds?

Seeing the brooches from the planned auction - I am not sure they are identical. They look more like a J and a C - what do you think? It would make sense

The amethyst brooch, the aquamarine brooch, the emerald flower, the aquamarine butterfly, the diamond pendant earrings, 2 brilliant cut diamonds of 2.4 carats each with fleur de lys motifs and the white and black cultured pearl pendant were sold discretly in 2008 too.
