Queen Mary (what a lovely jewellery-lover name! ) was definitely elegant, and did not disappoint in terms of jewels, even in a context in which no substantial glitter was expected. The new King did not wear the gem-studded breast stars of the Danish orders, but "only" the normal metal brest stars. Princess Isabella wore Queen Alexandrine's triangle pearl brooch with the conch pearl pendant, which was a christening present from Queen Alexandrine to Queen Margrethe in 1940, and from Queen Margrethe to Princess Isabella in 2007: Previous Message Queen Mary wore the brooch at her waist without the hanging drops, the upper part of the earrings without the hanging chandeliers, and the two extra leaves from the tiara as a hair ornament. Crown Prince Christian appeared to be wearing substantial sized blue sapphire cufflinks.

Queen Margrethe II wore for her abdication the small ruby horseshoe brooch, which had been presented to her by her father King Frederix IX, and which she had worn on her mourning dress, for her own accession proclamation on 14th January, 1972. Certainly not a coincidence...

Queen Mary : Sapphire brooch present of Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik when Prince Christian was born Queen Margrethe : Lady Patricia Ramsey Pearl Brooch present when she was 18. Previous Message My friend Богдън sent me some close-ups of CP Christian’s cufflinks side-by-side with a photo of a pair worn by Prince Henrik, we believe they are a match. That’s lovely that Christian inherited something so beautiful from his grandpapa.

Princess Josephine J brooch and Queen Mary's earrings

On the last balcony appearance yesterday Princess Josephine was wearing a J brooch (her initial) pinned on the center of her coat. She was not wearing that brooch earlier on the day. Any information on the brooch, did she had it already or was it a gift from her parents on such a special day? Pss Josephine is also wearing her mother's pink gem earrings.
