one last thing I forgot. You say the musicianship is still good within the band.
I tend to disagree from the many clips I´ve seen with the band on Youtube for the last roughly 15 years.
Except for Tony Lindsay and Benny no one else in the band can fill the shoes of any of their predecessors.
The last show I attended was for the special jazz fusion concert with John McLaughlin at Montreux Jazz festival in 2011, a 40 year birtday present from my then girlfriend. One of the best concerts I´ve ever been too, and I made the most of it knowing these sort of Santana
concerts would soon be a thing of the past, because the rot had already set in back in 2011.
I might only go to concerts with Carlos from now on if, a) he radically changes his set list or B) special projects with other exciting musicians.
Rant over. Sorry, not in any way directed towards you, Tony. Out of the system now. Feeling much better!!!! Previous Message
Hi Soren, we did this one song from every album thing a couple years ago. In terms of set lists,...hmmm. I have been going every year and I simply ask for a different song than "hope your feeling better"...I mean you can't play I'll Be Waiting or Life is for Living or SOMETHING ELSE...nope....set list is terrible. However, the musicianship is still excellent. It is worth going for my European amigos..... Previous Message
I would really like this Santana tour of next year to be something special, but I won´t hold my breath.
It would be so refreshing if Carlos and band, for once, played one song from all of the existing albums. Imagine how awesome a reception from the crowd if that was to be?
Then he could play Samba Pa ti, BMW, Maria Maria, Soul Sacrifice and Smooth as encores.
If you all could chose one song from each album to be played, what would these tunes be?
Eagerly awaiting replies.
My own list would be something like this:
"Treat"
"Incident at Neshabur"
"Everybody´s everything"
"Song of the wind"
"Love, devotion and surrender"
"Mirage"
"Let me"
"Maria Caracoles"
"Transcendance"
"Life is a lady/Holiday"
"Aqua Marine"
"Brightest star"
"Body surfing"
"Brotherhood"
"Before we go"
"Soweto (Africa Libre)"
"Somewhere in heaven"
"Bacalao con pan (outtake from "Supernatural")
"Victory is won"
"Song for Cindy"
I have left out songs from Carlos´ many solo albums, but feel free to include them in the list as well.

The band is finally coming back to Denmark again next summer as well as many other venues spread all over Europe. Ticket prizes expensive, though. I sincerely hope there is new material in the set list. The set lists has been stale for many years now. Please surprise us, Carlos.
