Carlos is wearing a very cool t-shirt with the inscription "Grace is my GPS" in the "Let the guitar play video"!!!!! Previous Message
Okay.....
First off, apologize for making a mistake. Silly me!
The song "Let the guitar play" is actually an up-tempo version of "Song for Cindy" from the "Blessings and miracles" album. This time just with added rap vocals. Generally I despice rap music, but stranger things have happened. Maybe I will warm to this tune eventually. Who knows?
Secondly, I have heard the tunes on the 1996 Paulo Rustichelli album and "Get on" and "Vers le soleil" are actually both better than I remembered them to be. Great Synthesizers in an Italian way reminiscent of the great Ennio Morricones´s works. The drums, however, are from a drum machine, which I absolutely hate and hate and hate.
But the "Full moon" version on Paolo´s "Mystic Jazz" is far better than the version on "Spirits dancing in the flesh". In the Italian version there is a long sublime solo by Carlos that is unjustifiably cut out from the "Spirits...." album.
But altogether, still rays of sunshine throughout the album, but "Rastafario" is still a crap song and ludicrous to include "I´ll be waiting" on this album. It is a very average song.
But here are two songs that I´m sure are unreleased. "Whatever happens" and "Coherence". I will look forward to listening to those two songs on YouTube once they get available.
The Santana version of Michael Jackson´s "Stranger in Moscow" I may have heard from one of the many bootlegs floating around YouTube. The version I heard was stunning and with Narada Michael Walden´s band it might be awesome!
So, yes, trying to find positives, and there might be a few. Judge by yourself. Previous Message
1. Let the guitar play (From Guitar Heaven...sigh)
2. Stranger in Moscow
3. Whatever happens
4. Please don´t take
5. Get on
6. Vers le soleil
7. Rastafario (horrible song)
8. Full moon
9. I´ll be waiting (just why???)
10. Coherence (could be a good song. I don´t know it)
11. Blues for Salvador (great song, but again why???)
Tracks 5-8 together with Paolo Rustichelli. Previous Message
Just discovered the track listing and it is disappointing to say the very least. four (4!!!!!) out of 11 tracks are together with Paulo Rustichelli from his 1996 album "Mystic man". Out of these four tunes only "Full moon" is good, the rest is mediocre.
Very, very disappointed. I am not going to buy this release. It is a rip-off.
I wonder if Carlos is using Trump antiques now to turn everything into a buck.
Shameful..... Previous Message
