Romain,
you hit the nail on the head. What has been going on with Santana since Suoernatural is approaching shambolic. There´s two words for that: Selling out.
Carlos, for your own legacy, retire soon because you are doing much damage (30 years) to the image created between 1969 and 1999 as a searching musician less interested in chart success.
Carlos is what Trump is for the US today. Not too long ago the US was the mightiest and most respected country in the world in many terms - look at the sad state of affairs there now with a wannabe dictator in charge.
Santana also turned 360 degrees. He stood for integrity, now he is doing "Te´quil´ya" with someone by the name of Killer Mike. Cringe worthy stuff there. How money can destroy even people who were good at heart (excluding Trump, of course!!!!)
After this years tour, which will see another endless renditions of the old (by now) boring, boring classics turned out without no soul.
One last wish. Please fire your whole band and do one last tour with new musicians and new songs. I don´t care what genres. Just make sure that it comes from the heart and not the money wallet.
That´s a premature wish for Father Christmas. Previous Message
As I often say to myself now, Carlos is still alive but Santana is dead . He should call his records Carlos Santana.
No more homogeneity from the band, no more creativity, no more passion to release new material...
But I might be wrong in a near future ; it's my only hope. Previous Message
Angelo,
much as I had big expectations for this "Sentient" album we now learn that this is a sort of a retrospective album with predominantly songs that have been released before, with the slight change that these songs are different cuts than then already existing ones.
Slightly disappointed about that.
I had hoped for a straight Santana band with exclusively new material and no guests on it.
Still, guess I will have to look forward to the 3 tracks out of 11 that are previously unreleased songs. Previous Message
