Here is my list.
1. It's A Wonderful Life (J.Edgar Hoover's opinion not withstanding.)
2. It's a Charlie Brown Christmas
3. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
4. A Christmas Carol. Though I enjoy most of the versions the 1984 version with George C. Scott had been my favorite. The more recent, 1999 version with Patrick Stewart is my current favorite. The 2009 version with Kelsey Grammer is terrible. While I respect most of Grammer's work, he just doesn't make for a good Ebeneezer Scrooge.
5. A Christmas Story. This one is here because it speaks to my childhood, especially the broken glasses aspect. I had glasses from an early age and breakage was a given. Also, though I grew up in the 60's, my parents were a 40's kind of parents. It's good entertainment, but the underlying premise is 'getting'. This is why it is last on my list. All of the above are on my Lenten season watch list. I have them all on DVD or VHS.
They've all been watched and are going into the "Christmas Entertainment" box until next November.
