Randolph Scott is a fine western actor, you just have to pick the right films. "7 Men From Now" & "Ride The High Country" are my favs.
When I was growing up, my western taste did not stray from John Wayne & Clint Eastwood but I soon expanded into Jimmy Stewart. Now, I have been through Randolph Scott, Glenn Ford, Robert Ryan, Gregory Peck, Henry Fonda and others. I can't go for Roy Rogers or Gene Autry though. I prefer a more serious tone.
