Yes, I do own "The Black Room". I did recall liking it.
I also own the "Body Snatcher" and all of the other Val Lewton produced horror films. I really enjoyed the Body Snatcher and it gets even better with repeated viewings. It is one of the more memorable Karloff films. Bela Lugosi's role in it is pretty sad though. His part is of such little significance, definitely no where near on equal ground here.
That is an interesting fact about about Frankenstein being the 81st film. I have reviewed Karloff's filmography many times and that thought just never crossed my mind!
