The Horse Soldiers(1959). Somehow I knew JW and William Holden(who sounds like everybody else, according to Goober)would be at odds in this one. Plus there's Mr O'Malley, who I thought was in Detroit, whining all the way at the Duke's side. So...the confederate soldiers sung beautifully as they headed into battle? LOL
Her name escapes me, but I enjoyed the southern lady Constance Towers, who's in most every scene.
and Blood Alley(1955). Saw this last night, and I'm liking it more now than I did when I watched it. Again, predictable how the Duke/Lauren Bacall relationship materializes, but I did love the feisty Bacall. Strange opening credit for the voluptuous Anita Ekberg. She's only in a couple mid-shot scenes, concealed in a burlap sack trying to pass off as a Chinese refugee.(!!!)
Speaking of which....the Chinese cast easily takes top acting honors. A heartbreaking and strenuous journey.
