Yeah, I've seen both of those in recent years. I like'em but I guess I haven't seen them enough to compare. If I recall correctly, White Christmas has a background shot of horseshoe pitching going on.
Yeah, those race things, I just accept them as being filmed in the times they were in. I don't let it bother me. I am not a fan of censorship but maybe a disclaimer or note at the beginning of the film to the viewer. Not entertaining scenes though in any way.
