I always want to see the William Castle version of "The Old Dark House" (1963). I had resisted for a long time because I knew it would be oddball, ha! It was interesting. Some scenes I have no idea why they put those branches of the story in there. Noah's ark??? LOL! It was ok. Tom Poston was pretty entertaining. The house and set designs were pleasing. A little more dark house and less oddball stuff and it would have been fine.
Two On A Guillotine (1965) Fine cast with Dean Jones, Connie Stevens and Cesar Romero. This serves as a mystery film. The movies plods along waiting on the reveal at the end. It goes on way too long at 1hr and 47 minutes. Should have been cut by 20 minutes at least. There is a whole segment when Jones and Stevens take a tour of the local "scene", amusement park and go-go club? I could have done without that. Enjoyable when it sticks to the scenery of the old house of mysterious happenings.
Do I recommend them? Maybe. I probably enjoyed the second film a little more, just too long.
Seen either of these, Al?
Scooby Doo all the way!
