Jennifer Jones in the title role of a plumber's niece in wartime england. Another delightful film from Ernst Lubitch who made some wonderful satirical classic films such as Ninotchka and The Shop Around the Corner. Not much happens, but we certainly care for these characters, especially Jones and Charles Boyer as a Czech refugee. This is my first Jones movie And I'm looking forward to her academy award winning role in The Song of Bernadette which I have not seen.
One foot note...Una O'Connor, who has a blistering scream in a couple Frankenstein movies is hysterical in this film with.....no you'll have to watch it. Sorry.
