Simon is a guy who barely tolerates wearing a costume when he's in action, let alone when he's at home watching the cross town classic.
I'm making that official canon, by the way. He was watching the Cubs beat the White Sox when Carol knocked on his door. Nobody can say otherwise.
I genuinely do find it hilarious to see that he was still wearing his wristbands even the following morning, though.
