Bendis having a passion for writing Simon?
I don't know if you've been paying attention, but the Mighty Avengers haven't appeared in Mighty Avengers for seven issues now. Last week was #18 and Simon last appeared in #11.
Bendis pretty clearly has no "passion" to write either Wonder Man or the Mighty Avengers. He's just kept the book because it suits his needs to have an extra 22 pages a month to explain away all of the plot holes in his events.

: I certainly do worry about Bendis leaving
: 'Mighty'. As we've seen in the past ten
: years, only a few writers have the passion
: to write Simon properly. Shoot, the second
: Busiek left Volume 3, Wonder Man was gone
: within an issue. Sad. I'm definitely
: curious to see who the new writer is and I'm
: hoping they don't fall into that usual class
: of 'new writer on a new book feeling the
: need to shake up the line-up'. Personally,
: I'm a big fan of the Mighty line up. I
: think that the entire team is composed of
: strong characters that mesh well together.
:
: Well, all we can do is play the 'wait and
: see' game.

: I'm only concerned about Bendis taking
: Wonder
: Man with him. He hasn't done much with the
: character but the little he has done with
: him I can't say I dislike. For once he got
: rid of the ionic glow and get him paired
: with Ms. Marvel plus he gave him back the
: black tanktop uniform even though it hasn't
: appeared anywere after the Dr. Doom
: adventure. He also said he was as strong as
: the Sentry even though he never showed this
: but at least that was Bendis dialogue. Would
: another writer treat Wonder Man well, or
: even want to have him as a regular?

: Well, Marvel has announced another monthly
: Avengers title will be spinning out of the
: Secret Invasion storyline. This book will
: be called 'Dark Avengers'. Lets let the
: conjecture begin!
:
: My take - I think this could be another
: Thunderbolts like title. We have heard all
: along that some villains could be switching
: to the side of the angels once SI wraps up.
: Could this be it? A team lead by a couple
: full time Avengers coupled with a couple
: reformed villains? We know that the
: Avengers love the reformed villain take.
:
: Anybody else?
