: backstory at a movie audience like that? To
: succeeed, the movie has to be much, much
: more than comics fans. Today's movie fans
: are well aware of basic AI concepts and
: you'd hardly need SImon Williams' presence
: to explain how the Vision can think and
: feel. Don't seriously expect a movie
: version of Vision to drag Wonder Man along
: with him.

True, they don't need to have Wonder Man's brain patterns to be what would "humanize" the Vision. Heck, they may not even go in that direction. But it does add to the growth of the Vision character to have him start off a cold, robotic villain and to slowly become an emotional, caring ally. This story would make a great sub-plot for an Avengers movie, IMO. So why couldn't the head of Stark's rival company become a super powered foe of the Avengers and "die" saving them after a change of heart?
I'm not saying Simon's story has to be filmed, but it could be brought up as the Vision struggles with his feelings. Besides, the films have stuck pretty much to the comics so far, so it couldn't hurt to at least give ol' Simon a mention if they're not going to use him.
