Pictures from the 1983 state visit from the UK to Sweden are indeed difficult to find, but below are a few. The welcome ceremony marks one of the very few times that the large diamond and pearl drop brooch from Victoria von Baden was seen on Queen Silvia. The gala (at the opera, with black tie dress code) was afaik the last time Queen Elizabeth wore the intricate V-shaped Victorian ruby necklace in public, while Queen Silvia wore Victoria von Baden’s pearl choker and Queen Josefina’s diamond and pearl flower brooch in her hair. The return dinner took place on the ‘Britannia’ - Queen Silvia wore the cameo parure and Queen Elizabeth her sapphire parure.
