Why not ask a secretary to phone the Danish Embassy, discreetly, for reliable information about the orders and decorations of that country. I would think matters of diplomacy and protocol need to be handled at the best diplomatic level. It reminds of a dreadful occasion in Australia when a national anthem, relevant for a visiting celebrity, was obtained from a popular CD of national anthems. They ended up publicly playing the outdated and highly upsetting revolutionary anthem.
