Actually, before 1897 she had 4: the tiara from the Van Kempen Parure, which was later (partly) broken up.
If only we had a good close up picture of Emma at the Silver Wedding of her daughter...
--Previous Message-- : We might, to the best of my knowledge Emma had : only three tiara's: : : The Ruby parure : the Saphire parure : the floral diamond tiara (with or without : stars) in combination with the diamond : weddinggift rivière and stomacher. : : She is wearing the diamond stomacher. Could : she have added the roses her husband gave : her and her granddaughter wore for her : wedding?? : : --Previous Message-- : That's what I thought as well. Do we finally : have a Dutch mystery tiara for a change?! : Speaking of which I would like to consider : an other mystery tiara of sorts as a : possible match with Armgard's. Queen Emma's : wearing a delicate tiara (with pearls?) at : the 1926 festivities for the Silver wedding : of Queen Wilhelmina. Unfortunately the : quality of the photo is not great... Any : better ones out there? : : : : Geheugen van Nederland : : : --Previous Message-- : I don't think this Abel-Smith piece is what : Armgard wore in 1962. The English piece is : bigger with more substantial diamonds and : Armgard's tiara had pearls and this tiara : hasn't. : : --Previous Message-- : Interesting. Thanks for this new : information. : Perhaps I was mistaken but I thought Armgard : was wearing a tiara mounted with diamonds : and pearls in 1962... : : --Previous Message-- : Picture of Lady May Abel-Smith. : She wears the tiara that Armgard wore at the : 1962 festivities for her sons silver : wedding. : It was on loan to her for the evening. : : I hope you all will forgive me for not : revealing my sources. But I can reveal that : the picture comes from this wonderful book: : Relatively Royal by Robert Golden! : : : : : : : : : :
