Take a piece of ribbon and wrap it around your head to find the length of an open backed tiara. Then loop that length into a circle. You'll find the circle is quite small, like the coronet. Other than having a removable base, I don't see any suggestion that the Girls tiara comes apart into separate pieces. It can be worn in three ways, as tiara, as coronet, and as necklace. I wish someone had been photographed wearing it as a necklace.
