I believe without a shadow of a doubt the information supplied by Roberts, we have to remember that unlike all previous publications, Roberts had unparalleled access to the Royal Archives, most important Queen Mary's Photographic jewellery inventory, which has clear pictures and detailed notes on each piece of jewelley.

Queen Mary herself will have known which brooch was a gift from Surrey and which was a gift from Richmond and she would have thus labelled them accordingly. It is from these indisputable sources that Roberts draws his information.

Thus I have unqualified trust in the validity and credibility of Robert's publication and information. Thus this brooch was a gift from The Town of Richmond, and is thus known as 'Queen Mary's Richmond Brooch'.
