According to several Grace biographers, they were entirely incompatible personalities; they never developed cordial relations to put it mildly, with Princess Charlotte looking down on her daughter-in-law for no good reason, probably compensating for her illegitimate birth. Princess Grace in turn blamed her husband's mother for many of his emotional deficiencies. They never lived under the same roof, but even as late as in the early 1970s, Princess Grace still called Charlotte in a letter to a friend "as cold as a witch's teat" - sorry, her language not mine. It would indeed be great to have pictorial evidence that Princess Grace did wear this particular tiara after all - if there's no screenshot, perhaps you could give us the title / channel / director info on the biography you watched, Hans? --Previous Message-- : Detested? Why, on Earth? : : --Previous Message-- : Very interesting Hans. I've always read that : Pss Charlotte detested Pss Grace, thus : leaving all her jewels directly to her : beloved grand-daughter Pss Caroline. : As far as I know is the first time that Pss : Grace is seen with the fringe necklace : tiara. To my knowledge she never wore the : pearl tiara also. She received the 3 : convertible cabochon rubi brooches/tiara : from the Societé des Bains de Mér as wedding : gift, as was the one she wore most often, : along with her smal waved diamond tiara. : : Hans is it possible for you to get a : snapshot of that image? That would be great! : Thanks : : : : : --Previous Message-- : I just saw a documentary about the life of : HRH : Princess Grace of Monaco. At the end there : ware was very clear shot of her wearing the : Fringe Tiara as tiara. : : : : : http://orderofsplendor.blogspot.be/2011/06/tiara-thursday-charlottes-fringe-tiara.html : : : : : :
