I have seen the documentary too on Canvas (the cultural channel of the VRT, the Dutch speaking public broadcaster in Belgium). The original title is Grace Kelly, Princesse de Monaco, made by Frédéric Mitterrand (a nephew of the late French President). The documentary was ruïned by the horrible Flemish commentary like "the Princess beamed as never before but few saw the emptiness in her eyes", "as if the Princess knew her end was near, she was anxious to catch the family happiness more and more" (in photos and films). The usual hineininterpretieren of possible animosity between the Princess and the American First Lady ('Jackie in Oleg Cassini, Grace in Balenciaga') and other gossips. It was like the Flemish comments were written by a Barbara Cartland look-a-like. Hor-ri-ble. The documentary however showed fan-tas-tic public and private images. Lots of home made movies of young, happy and cute Caroline, Albert and Stéphanie. Also pictures of Grace and Rainier enjoying a cruise with Maria Callas and Aristoteles Onassis, for an example. There were a few grand scenes of Grace wearing diadems, one of these showing her almost like Sissi with a HUGE diadem, for a celebration of some sort of centenary of Monte Carlo. There was also a part showing Grace visiting her mother in law Princess Charlotte, Duchesse de Valentinois on her residence, the Château de Marchais (I think it is still owned by the Prince). The commentary told about the cold and distant relationship between mother- and daughter-in-law. Nevertheless, Hans has seen it correctly, I saw it too: Princess Grace dancing on a ball with Princess Charlotte's fringe diadem! The program can only be reviewed again when you have a subscription, maybe there are snippets somewhere on You Tube. I will try to search for it. Especially Grace with that enormous Sissi gown in movement showed a lot of glitz and glam!
